Making a difference to our city.
Our purpose is to show love in action to a hurting world by equipping and empowering people in need with free resources and relief. Love In Action brings the mission to life through initiatives that respond to the struggles of our community with immediate and short term support.
We are blessed by the generosity of our sponsors and donors which allows us to provide these services to the community free of charge.
Gawler Place Outreach
Each week, our Gawler Place Outreach Program provides meals to over 70 people experiencing homelessness or food insecurity in our city. Our volunteers meet every Friday night to prepare and deliver these meals, making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
The Pantry
The Pantry is a food relief program offering free groceries to people in our local community. Open one Saturday each month, it provides support to those experiencing food insecurity.
Winter Appeal
Each night, over 6,000 people face homelessness in Adelaide, with the cold winter nights being especially challenging. Through our annual Winter Appeal, Love in Action provides sleeping bags, blankets and warm clothing to people experiencing homelessness.
Backpack Beds
We distribute backpack beds to people experiencing homelessness and sleeping rough in the Adelaide CBD, helping them stay warm and a little more comfortable.
Love In Action
Barbers
Several times a year, we provide free haircuts to people experiencing financial hardship in our community, helping them access this simple but meaningful service with dignity.
Give Joy
Christmas Appeal
Every Christmas, we provide grocery hampers to families facing hardship. We also partner with our Life Kids program to decorate Christmas tree ornaments for children in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, spreading a little joy during the holiday season.
Easter Packs
We partner with Seeds of Affinity, a program that supports women in prison or recently released and their children, by preparing and sharing Easter gift baskets with them.
School Bag Appeal
Partnering with our Life Kids program, we pack school bags with stationery, drink bottles and essential supplies.These bags are delivered to select number of schools and given to students who are newly arrived in Australia or whose families are facing financial challenges, helping them start the school year prepared and ready to learn.
